What To Do When You Need An Emergency Dentist During The Coronavirus (Covid 19)
At the end of March 2020, when the UK Government decided to put the country into Lockdown, this meant that all Private & NHS Dental Practices had to close temporarily. However, since then NHS England has been putting in place solutions for Emergency Dental Care, during the Coronavirus.
For around four to five weeks following the Lockdown announcement, many people in the UK were unable to Access Emergency Dental Care. This was due to limited Emergency Dental Services being available, because of the lack of PPE and to ensure that the Coronavirus didn’t spread too quickly.
The only Emergency Dental Services that Private & NHS Dental Practices could offer, during this period of time, was Telephone Consultations to existing dental patients including medication prescriptions for Painkillers and Antibiotics for Emergency Toothache Relief.
Eventually, NHS England has been able to setup Urgent Dental Care hubs for dental patients with the more serious Emergency Dental Care problems including, Tooth Abscess, Tooth Infection, Broken Teeth and Emergency Tooth Extraction etc.
